Chiemgauer100

The Chiemgauer100 mountain ultra is a nature trail run which employs mainly alpine hiking trails and forestry roads. It includes several major and technically challenging climbs and descents. It follows the example of the tougher American 100 mile trail races, but the main event is "only" over the more European 100 k distance. However, by adding a partly self-supported prologue an extension to 100 miles is possible. The run has been held since 2005 in nearly unchanged form. From 2019 we offer also a 75 km distance

The course is accessible by public roads only in a few locations and tries to string together the most beautiful nature running trails of the region.

25k ahead of the finish the runners may officially shorten the race by 15k and 3000 ft of climbs by omitting the final mountain.

What you won't find: Stardom, excessive media attention, age groups, press packages, price or start money.

What you will find: Prices given away by lotterie amongst all 100+k finishers, trophies for the winning 3 men and women of the unshortened distances, commemorative finisher item (e.g. T-shirt) for all distances, pasta party, motivated volunteers, cameraderie and an unforgettable experience.
